Game of Thrones will be Recorded in Osuna and Seville in Spain, and will become Westeros. After days of speculation, the mayor of Osuna, Rosario Andujar has declared that Osuna is one of the two Spanish cities, along with Sevilla that the producer HBO has chosen as the setting for his hit series “Game of Thrones”.
It has been several months of intense work with Sevilla Andalusia Film Commission, entity whose purpose is to promote Andalusia and Spain as a location for industry national and international cinema.
Several places of Osuna will be used, Collegiate, Osuna University, Osuna quarries, “Canteras de Osuna”, and the bullring. Places which in one way or another could serve different scenes in “Game of Thrones”.
The production in Spain is by Peter Welter Soler, and Fresco Film Services. CANAL + is the Game of Thrones channel in Spain. Based on the series “A Song of Ice and Fire” by George RR Martin, HBO’s “Game of Thrones” completed its airing of the fourth season of ten episodes in June and will begin filming the fifth season in Belfast this year.
The series, from David Benioff and D. B. Weiss, is an epic tale of treachery and nobility, set on the continent of Westeros, where summers and winters can last for years.
